Notes for Spencer MOZINGO
Spencer had six sons aged 11-15 on the 1782 tax list, no females. He is
said to be a Rev. War Soldier. He is supposed to be from Culpepper Co.,
VA. (NOTE Culpepper Co., VA was formed from Orange Co., VA)
1785 Orange Co., VA Spencer had 7 whites, 2 blacks, 2 other buildings
Ref: Orange Co., VA Tax Lists. The History for Decatur Co., IN
It's believed he or at least the sons migrated to Bourbon Co., KY before
going to IN.
Note: We've been told that three sons went to IN: Thomas, James, and
Joseph. The only mention of a Thomas is in the Decatur County, IN
History and this sounds like James. He had a wife Milla. I feel that
Lewis was not accurate and that Thomas Mozingo should be James
Mozingo???

Wisecarver and Bridget his wife for 400 land consisting of 150 acres on
the south side of Thornton River in Mozingo's old line. " From The

Could Spencer Mozingo have been married to a Thornton or have Thornton
family connections?? James, son of Spencer has a son named Thornton!!
