Page 2, Known as "King of the Shoales" at Haley's Island. Later lived in Kittery and was a ship builder. He constructed a sea wall to connect two islands and protect the harbor. The wall was 14 rods long, 13 feet high and 15 feet wide. Haley’s Island is named for him.45
Was a fisherman at the Isles of Shoals at an early date and was called the “King of the Shoals.” He bought land in York in 1662 and sold it in 1684. His wife was made administratrix of his estate 2 December 1697.83
Page 963, 964, The estate of Andrew Haley was divided in 1724 and the receipts of the heirs are recorded in York deeds. Hannah Wescott, widow of Richard, receipted for her share June 4, 1724; Richard Crockett, Nicholas Hillard and Samuel Skillings gave receipts at about the same time to Andrew Haley Jr., their brother in law.40
Kittery, fisherman, earl at sholes. With Thomas Donnell in 1662 he bought from John Pearce the Edward Johnson homestead in York and sold his half in 1684 when he was living at Spruce Creek. Mr. Robert Elliot paid his fine in 1667 for swearing and blasphemy; in 1674 he pain a fine for Richard Miller. His wife, possibly not 1st was Deborah, daughter of Gowen Wilson, 2 June 1684, when her father deeded them her portion, including 11 acres at Spruce Creek east of Robert Mendum’s. Administer to her and son Andrew 24 December 1697, Mr. William Pepperell and Joseph Weeks bondsmen. Widow Haley taxed Kittery 170476
