Helen R. Walker, 88, of Waukegan passed away on Sunday December 10, 2006 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion. She was born December 20, 1917 in Waukegan and remained a life long resident. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish and the Altar & Rosary Society. Prior to retirement she worked for the Waukegan School District as a secretary in the athletic department for 18 years. Helen is survived by her children, James (Claudette) Walker of Lake Bluff, Fritz (Mary) Walker of Waukegan, Bill (Carol) Walker of Waukegan and MaryLou (John Courney) Walker of Oak Forest, IL; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristen, Andi, Jared, Thomas, Kimberly and Kevin; as well as three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walker in 1999; and her parents, Frank and Anna Jonaitis. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Immaculate Conception Church, Grand Ave. and West St. Waukegan. Interment will be at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. Friends may call at PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association or to Immaculate Conception.
