Tailor, first appeared Dover tax list 1663, yet the same year “of Isles of Shoals” and bought there. Constable 1666. Fined in Maine court for forcibly evicting William Pitts, but sustained in jailing him. 1666 appraiser on Rev. Joseph Hull’s estate. Next year bought 2 acres near Portsmouth meeting house where he apparently lived until going Salem to live with his son. in 1670 he sold his house at the Shoals. Grand jury 1670, 1672. In 1670 he took deed from William Palmer of 12 acres in Kittery to bring up his daughters from 4 to 20, added to it by two other deeds in 1674 and 1682, and sold the whole in 1685. In 1684 was fined for expressing his opinion of Cranfield. Oath of Allegiance at Strawberry Bank 28 August 1685. Last mentioned “of Salem” 30 May 1696
