John, came from Hingham England, in 1635, with wife Frances and daughter Mary. He had a grant of five acres of land in Hingham, Massachusetts on Town (South) Street, near the spot where Dr. H. E. Spalding resides [in 1893]. At the time the new meeting-house was erected, he and his two sons were located on East Street, below Cushing's Bridge."
