641Stephen's second wife, Bathsheba Brown, was the sister of his brother John's wife, Elizabeth brown. Stephen was a farmer and a Deacon of the Congregational Church of Chatham. He died in Chatham of smallpox 1766 at the age of 60 and his wife died three days later in the same epidemic. The epidemic also claimed the lives of his daughters, Bathsheba and Betty. His first wife was Hannah Collins.
