Solomon moved from Eastham to Chatham before Aug 1745, when he married his second wife Rebecca Hamilton; his first wife was Susanna Snow. He came to Nova Scotia and he and his son, Solomon, were original Proprietors of Barrington Township. Solomon was a cousin to Nathaniel and Jonathan Smith, Grantees in Barrington, and by his second marriage also became a brother-in-law to Jonathan.
