My G Grandfather, when he first came to California carried the gun on the stage coached from Salinas To San Luis Obispo; Then he was on the mail trains from San Francico to Nevada.

He was Capt. of Island Waters and a Capt. in the US Army, Corps of Engineer, during WW-I. When the war was over he returned to the Southern Pacific Rail Road Co. where he was on leave of absence and retired at the age of 70 in 1930.

My G Gandfather was involved and designed the US Naval Base Treasure Island, Located in the San francisco Bay and is connected via the Oakland Bay Bridge. The Island was built from dredging for the 1939 Worlds Fair.
